2009 Donate Life Colorado Campus Challenge!

Donor Alliance has joined the United States Health and Human Resources Administration (HRSA) in a national campaign, The National Donation Campus Challenge, that brings together National Partners, organ and tissue donation organizations, and Campus Partners — universities, colleges, and other post-secondary campuses — to help educate employees and campus communities on the importance of organ and tissue donation. The goal of the campaign is to register 60,000 new organ donor designations by November 30, 2009.

Why is this campaign so important? Because each day, 78 Americans receive a life-saving organ transplant, and thousands more benefit from cornea and tissue transplants. These extraordinary gifts have been generously donated by ordinary people of all ages and backgrounds who took just a few minutes in a busy day to indicate their decisions to become organ and tissue donors. But broader awareness of the need for organ donation is crucial, as more than 100,000 people are currently awaiting an organ transplant in the United States and each week, more than 100 people on the national transplant waiting list die because no organ is available.

Do you want to help us register new college students as organ and tissue donors, and compete with your rival school by doing it? If so, then consider joining the Campus Challenge and work with us to help save lives. The school or group who can register the largest amount of organ and tissue donors will be recognized with super cool prizes and a winning trophy!

Things that you can do:

  • Create a You Tube video about organ donation for submission into a You Tube contest
  • Set-up a donor registry booth on your campus
  • Work with your school newspaper or radio station to do an article or on-air announcement about organ and tissue donation.
  • Come up with a creative way to talk about organ donation with your friends on your campus, and choose a day, week or month to promote it
  • Pass out information during a school school sporting event, concert, or campus shin-dig

Give us a call for more information to get started! You have the power to help save lives!

Workplace Partnership for Life

Donor Alliance is one of more than 50 OPO's nationally who support the Workplace Partnership for Life program. Spearheaded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Workplace Partnership for Life is a way to utilize your business or organization to spread education of organ and tissue donation.

If your organization is interested in supporting a philanthropic cause, consider a cause that will help save the lives of more than 100,000 men, women and children waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. Any workplace, association, religious community, school or civic organization can become a Donor Alliance workplace partner and make a difference!
