TISSUE RECOVERY CLINICIAN

RECOVERY CLINICIAN (aseptic technique strongly preferred – CST, ORT, etc.)

 

The Recovery Clinician is responsible for many aspects of the tissue donation process within the guidelines of Donor Alliance.  The Clinician will work both independently and as a team member to represent Donor Alliance in evaluating and procuring potential tissue donors.  These activities are essential to the fulfillment of the company mission.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelors degree in a life science, certification in surgical technology/medical/paramedical professional is preferred to perform all technical functions of the position and/or equivalent work related experience.  Prior experience with aseptic technique and/or hospital surgical protocol strongly preferred to perform various technical functions.  Proficiency in the use of computer equipment and software, including but not limited to, Windows environment required.  Supervisory or experience in a leadership role is preferred in order to effectively coordinate, train, and evaluate recovery team members.  Valid driver’s license required.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

On-site evaluation of potential bone and tissue donors according to Don or Alliance and American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) medical criteria to provide tissue which is safe for transplantation.  Organizes and completes donor records and charts in a timely manner so that tissue may be released for transplantation.  Performs and/or supervises the collection, packaging, and transportation of all bone, tissue, serological samples, and microbiological samples necessary for the screening and processing of bone and tissue according to Don or Alliance and AATB guidelines.   Responsible for fulfilling rotating 12 hour shifts.
