The family of a double-lung transplant recipient who passed away earlier this year honored her memory at Cheyenne’s Henderson Elementary on Friday. Caydence “Cayde” Brannaman, 11-year-old regional advocate and poster child for Donate Life America, lost her battle with a heart condition earlier this year, and her family donated a scarlet “Love Cayde” bench to her former elementary school in remembrance.

It’s easy this time of year to get caught up in the holiday hustle and bustle and forget to take a moment to be grateful for what you have. As a two-time heart transplant recipient, when the holidays come around each year, I make a point to reflect on the second and third chance at life that I was given. I can remember many holidays when I didn’t feel well, even spending one holiday season in the hospital, waiting for my second heart transplant. I am now able to spend my holidays enjoying my family and friends and living my life to the fullest, all because two generous people said Yes to becoming organ, eye and tissue donors.

On Oct. 20, Brendan Bummer dropped the puck to start the home game between Casper Bobcats Junior Hockey and the Cheyenne Stampede team as part of Donate Life Wyoming Night. The Casper Bobcats joined Donate Life Wyoming for the weekend to celebrate organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation. From recipients, to donor families and caregivers, donation touched many throughout the weekend.

agosto 11, 2018 - Donate Life Colorado: Liver transplant Saved Lella’s Life – NBC 11 – Grand Junction, CO

There are about 200 people waiting for a life-saving transplant on the Western Slope. For Lella Young, she was only two months old when she was put on the transplant list. She is only here today because someone ticked that box and chose to become a donor. “It saved her life,” said Lyndall Young, Lella’s Mother.


julio 14, 2018 - Stepdaughter Of Vietnam War Veteran Advocates For Organ Donation – CBS 4 – Denver, CO

Alfred Lucero served in Vietnam in 1969. During his time in the service he was exposed to the chemical Agent Orange. “Due to that exposure he now has kidney failure,” said Lucero’s stepdaughter Dana Rojas. She advocates for organ and tissue donation. “Being an organ donor truly is the gift that never stops giving. It truly is giving somebody life,” Rojas said.
