Becoming a Community Advocate Volunteer Training
Facilitated by Brianna Doby with Positive Rhetoric, this training will focus on strategies to: develop your speaking skills, learn effective approaches to engaging event attendees and audiences, developing your listening skills, establish key donated related take home messages to share with the community at all Donate Life advocacy opportunities.
The second part of this training will focus on Advocate stories and the most effective and appropriate ways to share your stories in a community and clinical setting. We will talk about how Advocates with personal stories to share with the public can frame their discourse to be effective while also protecting and cherishing private memories. Issues of over-disclosure, story “burnout”, and addressing difficult questions from the public will be addressed. This workshop is offered three times a year in Denver, and as a Webinar- so we encourage regional Advocates to join in remotely.
