Flag Raising Ceremony at Wyoming Medical Center

April 2, 2019

This April, in celebration of National Donate Life Month, Donor Alliance will join Wyoming Medical Center for a flag raising ceremony. In addition to the flag raising ceremony, Wyoming Medical Center will be awash with blue and green lights throughout National Donate Life Month to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation.

Flag raising ceremonies, occurring at hospitals across Wyoming, are a special opportunity for a handful of residents directly impacted by donation to honor donors and raise awareness for donation. We encourage donor families, recipients, those on the transplant list, medical staff and passionate supporters to join us for the flag raising ceremonies.

For Laurie Weaver and family, this year’s flag raising is an anniversary. In 2018, on Easter Sunday, Laurie’s husband Sam, passed away suddenly from post-surgery complications. Just one month prior, Sam had renewed his decision to save lives through organ, eye and tissue donation at Driver Services. Laurie will participate in the flag raising ceremony in Sam’s honor and to share his lifesaving story.
