The short answer is, NO!

Everyone – regardless of age or health – can sign up to be an organ, eye and tissue donor and potentially save lives after death. It’s important to not rule yourself out, let the medical professionals decide your eligibility upon death. Even those with chronic conditions, such as hepatitis and diabetes, can sign up to give the gift of life at any age.

In Colorado and Wyoming, the average age of tissue donors in 2019 was 63. Even more remarkable, the oldest tissue donor in Colorado and Wyoming in 2019 was 103 years old! As you can see, age doesn’t make a difference when signing up to be an organ, eye and tissue donor, you may be able to give the gift of life!
