The 10th Annual Donor Dash will take place on
Sunday, July 19, 2009 in Washington Park.

The Donor Dash is a 5K run/walk for runners, walkers and the entire family to honor the lives of organ and tissue donors, celebrate the lives of organ and tissue recipients, and recognize the lives of those waiting for a lifesaving transplant.

Donor Dash began in 2000 to raise awareness for the tremendous need for organ and tissue donation in Colorado and Wyoming. Since its inception, the Donor Dash has gained the support of the community and has evolved into one of the largest 5K races in the state.

RACEDAY:
Regsitration begins at 7:00 a.m. at the finish line, located on Mississippi Avenue near Grasmere Lake in Washington Park. Credit cards are NOT ACCEPTED on race day. Cash or check only.

TEAM REGISTRATION

Gather your friends, family, sunscreen and running shoes for a fun-filled day to support organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Groups and organizations with 10 or more participants are encouraged to register as a team.

Whether you're interested in creating a team as a Team Captain, or joining a team, please thoroughly review the Donor Dash 2009 Team Packet.

Team Mail-in Registration:

Mail-in registrations must be received by Monday, July 13, 2009. Mail team registration materials in care of: Donor Dash, 3243 S. Niagara Street, Denver, CO 80224.

All online and mail-in registrations will be processed in the same manner. Don't forget, only teams with 10 participants will qualify as an official Donor Dash team. Need help promoting your team throughout the community?

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

As one of Denver's largest charitable events, none of it is possible without the assistance of our volunteers.

Donor Dash volunteer registration is open online for the following areas: Registration, Start Line, Course Marshals, Finish Line, Water Stations, Food And Beverages and more.

HONOR A LOVED ONE

DONOR DASH 2009 COMMEMORATIVE POSTER: We invite you to honor an organ and/or tissue donor, recipient or transplant candidate by submitting his/her name to be placed on a Donor Dash commemorative poster.

All submissions can be made using the Donor Dash hotline at 303-370-2710. Please leave a message that includes your name and phone number and the name of the person you would like to honor - please spell the first and last name - and his/her relation to donation and/or transplantation. All names must be submitted by July 6.

This year, names will not appear on the Donor Dash 2009 race t-shirt.

DONATE LIFE GARDEN: Honor a beloved donor by purchasing a 2' x 2' memorial sign featuring the donor's photograph and a personalized message to be placed in the Donate Life Garden in Washington Park on race day.

Donate Life Garden signs have a one time fee of $35.00 and can be used year after year. Your $35.00 contribution helps to cover the cost of the sign. You may take your sign home with you at the end of the race, or give it to Donor Alliance to store and be used in the Donate Life Garden again next year.

All sign orders must be submitted NO LATER than July 6. To submit your order, please download and print the Donate Life Garden Order Form.

INSPIRATIONAL SIGNAGE: Honor a recipient or transplant candidate by purchasing a 2' x 2' inspirational sign to be placed along the race course on race day. Your sign will help to raise awareness of the success of organ transplants and the need for donors to help end the wait for lifesaving organs.

Signs of Inspiration have a one time fee of $35.00 and can be used year after year. Your $35.00 contribution helps to cover the cost of the sign. You make take your sign home at the end of the day, or give it to Donor Alliance to store and be used along the race course next year.

All sign orders must be submitted NO LATER than July 6. To submit your order, please download and print the Sign of Inspiration Order Form.

PERSONALIZED SIGNAGE: Wear a personalized sign on the back of your t-shirt to honor or remember a loved one. Stop by the registration booth on race day, or print a "In Honor Of..." or "In Memory Of..." back sign from your own home or office computer. **For best results, print your personalized sign onto white cardstock.

Free Parking is available in the South High School parking lot located on the corner of E. Louisiana Avenue and S. Gilpin Street.

DONOR DASH 5K AWARDS:

This year, Donor Dash will recognize the following 5K Run Age Groups:
14 years and under, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70 years and over.

*A commemorative award will be mailed to the top three male and female overall finishers and the top three male and female age group finishers.

2008 DONOR DASH PARTICIPANTS:

Donor Alliance would like to thank all of the amazing individuals that helped make this year's Donor Dash another huge success!

This event is only possible with the contributions of our generous sponsors, the hardworking employees of The Downing Group (our official road race management company), the dedicated members of the Donor Dash Committee, the 100+ devoted volunteers and the thousands of participants.

With everyone's efforts combined, for the second year in a row, we were able to increase race participation to a record breaking 2,313 participants - an increase of nearly 700. This is an unbelievable accomplishment.

Since the event, we have received many wonderful comments, but the most meaningful are those regarding the apparent impact that this event continues to have on the community. Thank you for your commitment, thank you for your support and thank you for continuing to be an advocate for organ and tissue donation.
