Stories of Hope
Chuck
“Generous, sweet and gentle” are just a few words loved ones would use to describe Chuck of Worland, Wyoming, who spent his life serving others. If a neighbor needed their lawn mowed, Chuck was there to help. If someone needed help with gas money for groceries, he wouldn’t hesitate to chip in. And when he made a friend, it was a friend for life. His generosity and protecting spirit also continued through his years of service in the Air Force. He was also a devout Christian and would talk to anyone about his faith. Lois, Chuck’s wife, remembers his gift for making people feel welcome. “He made friends easily; he never knew a stranger,” Lois said. “He always got me a card for our anniversary and always for my birthday. When I was looking through them, I saw that every card is different.”
Chuck made the most out of each day, an enthusiastic hobbyist who enjoyed rollerblading with his wife, hiking the beartooth mountains, reading, polishing unique rocks and minerals, woodworking, photography and more.
When he passed away at age 86 in 2025, his kind and generous spirit lived on by saving and healing lives through tissue donation. “I was so proud of him for wanting to be a donor. I wish more people knew that even when you age, you can still make a difference,” said Lois.
Chuck spent his life making others feel cared for, and through tissue donation, his legacy of kindness continues in ways that reach far beyond the people he knew and loved.
