Flag Raising Ceremony at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center
This April, in celebration of National Donate Life Month, Donor Alliance will join Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for a flag raising ceremony. In addition to the flag raising ceremony, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center will be awash in lights throughout National Donate Life Month to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation.
Flag raising ceremonies, occurring at hospitals across Wyoming, are a special opportunity for a handful of residents directly impacted by donation to honor donors and raise awareness for donation. We encourage donor families, recipients, those on the transplant list, medical staff and passionate supporters to join us for the flag raising ceremonies.
In 1986, Doug Bare’s son, Keith, received a heart transplant as an infant. The donor family’s selfless act so touched Doug that decades later he chose to do an altruistic living kidney donation. Doug will participate in the flag raising ceremony in his son Keith’s honor and to share his lifesaving decision to be a donor.
