Driver license professionals play a vital role in increasing the number of registered organ, eye and tissue donors in Colorado and Wyoming. Nearly all people who register to be donors do so when they apply for or renew their driver license or state ID card.
Donor Alliance works closely with our partners at the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles Driver License offices and Wyoming Department of Transportation Driver Services offices to provide education and resources on organ, eye and tissue donation for both driver license staff and customers.
We are grateful for the efforts of driver license staff to educate Coloradans and Wyomingites about the registry and the lifesaving benefits of organ, eye, and tissue donation. Thousands of lives are saved and healed each year as a result.
Currently, 69% of Coloradans and nearly 59% of Wyomingites have registered their decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor. More information on donor designation rates by state can be found below:
