Advocate Spotlight: Tiffany Davis

Donor Alliance Advocates for Life are the heart and soul of our efforts to inspire and inform our community about the importance of signing up to be an organ, eye and tissue donor in Colorado and Wyoming. Each of our Advocates have their own unique and inspiring story to tell. In this Advocate Spotlight, meet Tiffany Davis, a liver recipient from Westminster, CO. Tiffany has been a dedicated Advocate for Life for 7 years!

What’s your favorite memory or event volunteering at Donor Alliance so far? My favorite thing about volunteering for Donor Alliance is being able to share my story with hospital staff. Often times, they see so many negative things, it’s nice to be able to share with them that their hard work has a positive impact too.

What is your favorite season and why? 100% fall. I love the crisp air after a hot summer , the smell of a fire in a fire pit and the color changing of the leaves.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? I’ve received a lot of really good advice, but my husband Joel likes to use the phrase “remember we are human BEINGS not human DOINGS”. It’s a great reminder to focus on living and less on tasks.

What song would you sing at karaoke night? Probably something instrumental. 😉

What is your proudest accomplishment? My kids. Every day I am impressed at the amazing humans they are. I’d like to think I play a small role in that.

If you could take an all-expenses paid vacation, where would you go and what would you do? That is tough! Probably tour Europe. I’d like to visit historical monuments and enjoy all the different cultures there.

What has been your favorite hobby in quarantine? I have been doing my usual hobbies (repurpose furniture, make hand-lettered signs for my home, garden, knit and cooking and baking), but last summer I started a transplant blog (The Graft Diaries) that has been great for me. It’s given me an opportunity to share while in quarantine and taught me more than I ever wanted to know about web design. It’s also allowed me to connect with other recipients around the world and that’s been amazing.

If you’re interested in volunteering with us we’d love to have you join our Advocates for Life program! Get started.
