Q: With concerns around COVID-19/coronavirus, is Donor Dash still happening?
A: After much consideration, the 21st Annual Donor Dash will be transitioned to a week-long celebration featuring numerous, physically distanced events. We believe this format will help ensure the health and safety of our participants, staff, volunteers and community. Though we are sad we can’t all be together like usual, we’ve planned some new and powerful ways to honor the lives of organ and tissue donors, celebrate the lives of transplant recipients and recognize those who continue to wait for a lifesaving transplant. We hope you’ll join us for the 2020 Donor Dash- Together, Though Apart.

Q: I want my packet mailed to my personal address and I am on a team. How can I make sure it gets mailed?
A: If you are on a team and don’t live close to your team captain, you can reach out to donordash@donoralliance.org and we can remove you from the team on Race Roster and then your packet will be mailed to you directly. If not, your packet will be with your team captain.

Q: I can’t make it to packet pick-up. What will happen to my packet?
A: If you registered prior to the July 10th deadline, individual packets will be mailed. Team captains will receive the packets for their entire team. If you registered after the July 10th deadline, your packet will be mailed to you after the event. There is no guarantee that the packet will be able to be delivered before the 19th

Q: When does online registration close?
A: Early Online registration is closed. Anyone wishing to pick up their packet early at the Drive-Through Pick-Up Party must register before Friday, July 10 at 6pm. Individual late registration is closed. Individuals have until Friday, July 17 to sign up to participate in the Donor Dash 5K race! Please keep in mind all participants must register online this year.

Q: Is the car parade still happening?
A: Yes, we are still excited for the car parade through Washington Park on Saturday, July 18th from 9:00am-10:15am. We hope to see you there. If a change does need to be made, we will communicate that on our website and social channels.

Q: When is the 2021 race? What about future races?
A: Our 22nd annual Donor Dash will take place in Denver’s Washington Park (we hope!) on Sunday, July 18th. To maintain our historical priority at the park, we plan Donor Dash for the third Sunday of every July, but that is subject to park availability.

Q: Can I register day of?
A: Since the format of our event changed, race-day registration won’t be available this year. Please sign up online for the 2020 Donor Dash.

Q: What is the schedule of events for this year?

  • Sunday, July 12, 11:00am-3:00pm: Drive-Through Pick-Up Party!
  • Sunday, July 12 – Sunday, July 19: Donor Dash Week!
  • Saturday, July 18, 9:00am-10:15am: Wash Park Car Parade!
  • Sunday, July 19, 10:00am-12:00pm: Together, Though Apart Live Program.
    • 10am: Run or walk your 5K if you’d like to complete prior to the program
    • 11am: Join us online for our live Together, Though Apart virtual program

Q: Can I leave my Donate Life Garden sign with Donor Alliance?
A: Yes, we can hold onto for next year.

Q: What is a Virtual Run?
A: A virtual run is a race that can be completed from any location you choose. You can run, jog or walk in your neighborhood, in a park near your home (please practice social distancing) or on your treadmill! Click here to read your options for submitting your Virtual 5K race results. Just be sure to submit your race results by 12:00pm on Monday, July 20th!

Q. Where does the race start?
A: There is no start line this year, (that’s right!) You can start running/walking from any location you choose. Race results must be uploaded prior to noon on Monday, July 20th!

Q: Can I still run with my dog?
A: Absolutely! Even though we’ll have a virtual race this time, you are more than welcome to run (or walk) with your dogs. Please remember it will be hot and to pack some water for your furry friend.

Q: When will the race results be available?
A: The race results are available now on Donor Alliance’s website (www.donoralliance.org/donordash). 

Q: Where can I find photos from the event?
A: Event photos will be posted at DonorAlliance.org/DonorDash and on our Facebook page. Please post pictures using the hashtag #DonorDash.

Q: Where does registration money go?
A: Your registration fee helps cover the cost of the event including timing, t-shirts, infrastructure, permitting, safety, race animation and marketing costs. Donor Dash is an awareness-raising event and proceeds are applied to improve the event in an effort to further educate and inspire support of organ, eye and tissue donation in our community.

Q: How can I make a pledge or donation in memory or honor of a loved one?
A: If you would like to make a donation in memory or honor of a loved one, you can do so online at DonorAlliance.org/Contribute.

To make it in honor of a person for the Donor Dash, simply mark that in the notes section. We can also accept donations via credit card over the phone. Call Donor Alliance at 303-329-4747 and ask for accounts receivable. Your contribution will aid in our efforts to save lives through organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Donated funds help support the gift of life in Colorado and Wyoming including public education and outreach programming. Thank you so much for your generosity.
