National Donate Life Month – Show Your Heart Request

The Show Your Heart Project aims to spread the altruistic nature of organ, eye and tissue donation throughout our community during National Donate Life Month.

The project centers on the grassroots distribution of personalized messages of inspiration to show appreciation for those who have registered as organ, eye and tissue donors and inspire others to consider such an act of generosity.

The Show Your Heart Project aims to spread the altruistic nature of organ, eye and tissue donation throughout our community during National Donate Life Month.To Request Hearts for You or Your Group to Personalize and Distribute:

1. Request Hearts: Fill out this form to request a few cork hearts for you or your group. Once you receive your Show Your Heart themed hearts, simply write a message of personal inspiration on the heart using a sharpie marker.

2. Share #ShowYourHeart: Take a picture of the heart and share it with the hashtag #ShowYourHeart along with why you support organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation.

3. Pass it On: Share it with a family member, friend, colleague, or put in your favorite place as a gift to be discovered by a stranger.
 
4. Ask Permission: Be sure to obtain permission before safely placing the hearts in a park, school, business, or any location you generally don’t call the shots. (If it’s helpful, you can find a sample request email here.)
 
5. Add to the Map: If placing in a discoverable location, be sure to send us an email at ShowYourHeart@DonorAlliance.org with the Name and Address of the venue along with the basic written permission you obtained so we can add it to the official Show Your Heart map!

Once May Day comes, be sure to check back with any locations you may have placed the heart and ask if you should swing by and pick up the inspirational message.
