Transplantation Science in the Classroom

What will this look like in my classroom?

In-Person:

The in-person version of Transplantation Science is taught in your classroom by a professional educator. The educator facilitates a full class-period(s) and brings engaging materials for students to interact with, including real plastinated human organs, tissue samples, eye specimens, and much more.

Traveling Trunk:

The traveling trunk is a program that allows schools in more remote locations to bring Transplantation Science into the classroom. A trunk filled with materials (including real plastinated human organs, tissue samples, and eye specimens) will be sent to the school. You will also receive lesson plans to help facilitate the class. A professional educator will also join your class virtually the next day for a question and answer session.

Transplantation Science students have the chance to:

Learn about the organ donation process.
Examine plastinated organ and tissue specimens from the human body.
Learn about the conditions leading to the need for a transplant.
Learn how organ allocation works.
Examine a diseased cornea and sclera specimen.
Learn the facts of donation and transplantation.
And much more!
