Virtual/At Home Opportunities:

  • National Donate Life Month Facebook Live: Celebrate National Blue & Green Day with us on Friday, April 16th by tuning into and engaging with our LIVE Coffee & Conversations event on Facebook! The LIVE event will feature several of your fellow Advocates sharing their stories and why they’re showing their heart this April! We are in need of a handful of Advocates that are willing to tune in live and comment on the video feed and share their story or ask a question. The more eyes we receive on this video, the more engagement we get and the public will get more involved too!
    • Friday, April 16, 11:50am-1:00pm
  • DMV National Donate Life Month Contest Fulfillment (Colorado). We would love for an Advocate or two to help us prepare prizes for winning DMV staff for our National Donate Life Month initiative. We are having a weekly contest with ten winners per week. The items will be changing from week to week. This could be arranged to be done safely at our office (mask and social distance required) or from home.

    • Monday, April 19, time flexible
    • Monday, April 26, time flexible

  • Data Entry: Transplantation Science. The Transplantation Science program needs assistance in updating the school district information for the 2021-2022 school year. Each year we update our spreadsheet of schools so that we can keep track of when school vacations are. This helps us in scheduling Transplantation Science classes. It’s a fairly simple process of going to the school website, finding the calendar and entering the updated information into an Excel worksheet. Training will be provided via Zoom in April or May and this opportunity can be completed at home.
    • Flexible dates and times
  • Short Thank You Videos: As a campaign for ICU hospital staff that work with organ donors and donor families during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are asking Advocates to create (1-2 minute) “thank you” videos that will be uploaded to YouTube and accessed via QR Code readers on hospital units by doctors, nurses and ancillary staff. The video is intended to share your story and to say thank you to the staff who assist in the donation process. It should be heartfelt, but brief, and include some details about your connection to donation and transplantation. If you’re interested, please e-mail mbock@donoralliance.org.

Wyoming Opportunities:

  • Special Opportunity: Workplace Partnership for Life Business Program. We are reenergizing the Workplace Partnership for Life business program in Wyoming! As a local workplace, an employer can have a positive impact and be a community leader by getting involved in our business program. Any Wyoming business or organization who wants to help spread awareness for lifesaving organ, eye and tissue donation can participate. There are many meaningful ways to participate. This program offers businesses an option to fulfill corporate social responsibility, locally, while maximizing employee engagement. We are looking for Wyoming Advocates who would be interested in sharing our reenergized program with their employer. Advocates would share their stories with their employer, tell them about the new program and encourage them to participate. We will provide information and handouts for you to give to your employer about the program. To get involved, e-mail Ryea’ at roneill@donoralliance.org.
  • DDS: Wyoming Donor Dash. Honoring the lives of organ, eye and tissue donors, celebrating the lives of recipients and recognizing those who continue to wait for a transplant at the annual Wyoming Donor Dash. Please join us to share your support and raise awareness for donation and transplantation in Wyoming. All proceeds benefit the Donor Resource Team at Wyoming Medical Center. Event Precautions: Please be safe and know we are observing the most up to date Governor and Wyoming Department of Health orders as well as CDC recommendations on COVID-19 precautions. We are looking for one Advocate to assist in facilitating a socially distanced DDS table at the event. This is a great opportunity to share your story and educate the public on the facts of organ, eye and tissue donation. 165 attendees are expected. This event will take place at the Tate Pumphouse in Casper.
    • Saturday, April 17th, 7:30am-10:00am
  • Special Event Support: Wyoming Donor Dash. We need two Advocates for Life to assist in manning the crosswalks along the Wyoming Donor Dash route. There are two crosswalk locations and we will provide you with a reflective safety vest to wear over your Donate Life t-shirt. This opportunity helps ensure the safety of the runners and walkers of this local favorite event. About 165 racers are expected. The Wyoming Donor Dash honors the lives of organ, eye and tissue donors, celebrates the lives of recipients and recognize those who continue to wait for a transplant. Event precautions: please be safe and know we are observing the most up to date Governor and Wyoming Department of Health orders as well as CDC recommendations on COVID-19 precautions. This event will take place at the Tate Pumphouse in Casper, WY.
