Events and Observances
As you step into the new year, do you have trouble with New Year’s resolution ideas? Well, we challenge you to choose the word “life” or the phrase the “gift of life” as your one intention to focus on throughout the year. Daily, here at Donor Alliance we strive to save lives through organ and tissue donation and transplantation. The “gift of life” is made possible because of donors and donor families who said yes to organ, eye and tissue donation.
New beginnings are filled with hope, opportunities and ways to give back to your communities. The real question is, how do you choose? Honestly, we love the simplicity of choosing a single word or phrase for the coming year. One word, one goal, one intention can be an extraordinary catalyst for change and transformation. Overall, it becomes more of a direction than a destination that guides you throughout your year. Every action will have meaning behind it.
We have an awesome list of intentions for you in 2023. You’ll be giving hope to the nearly 1,500 people in our region waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant by following these steps.
It will only take you a few minutes to say Yes to the “Gift of Life” and cross #1 off your list! “Tell My Family” is second and very important. You’ll want to have that conversation over and let them know your donation decision right away. Next, “Volunteer” with us and become an Advocate for Life. As the heart and soul of our organization, we need your help to continue our grassroots advocacy at community events. It is important to share your stories across Colorado and Wyoming in the new year. Finally, focus on health and happiness throughout the year! Honor those who have given the gift of life and hope for those who are waiting. Oh, and don’t forget, all the fun we have along the way!
Focus on the Gift of Life for your New Year’s Resolution
When you focus on the gift of life, fulfilling your intentions is easy. Did you know that just one donor can save and heal more than 75 others through organ and tissue donation? We bet that you know someone in your community that has a connection to donation or that has received a transplant. Some people don’t even know that they are recipients of donation. It is time to honor those donors and their families for their heroic and selfless decisions.
As you get ready to tackle or choose your intentions for 2023, we encourage you to learn more about organ, eye and tissue donation. Your heroic decision can save and heal lives. Register here to say Yes to donation in Colorado and register here to say Yes to donation in Wyoming.
